Persebaya Surabaya (Persatuan Sepakbola Surabaya) is a major Indonesian soccer team located in Surabaya, East Java. Persebaya generally play in the top league of Liga Indonesia, the Indonesia Super League (ISL) but in 2010-11 are in the second tier. The first team is the team who compete in the 2010-11 Premier Division led by speaker of the Surabaya Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), Wisnu Whardana.[2][3] The majority of players on this team consists of players who previously registered with newcomer team in the Premier Division of the Persikubar West Kutai. All the players are moved to Persebaya because Persikubar withdrew from the 2010-11 Liga Indonesia Premier Division competition. That's because all the players last season Persebaya were registered as Persebaya 1927 players to play in the 2011 Liga Primer Indonesia season.
